GH Bass and Fred Perry launch shoes linked to Amy Winehouse Foundation
In a collaboration built on a long-standing successful partnership, footwear specialist GH Bass and Fred Perry continue to develop their association. And this season brings a limited-edition loafer designed as part of the long running Fred Perry x Amy Winehouse Foundation collection.
“Rooted in the singer’s sportswear and pin-up silhouettes”, the collection celebrates Winehouse’s distinctive style “adding playful detailing that nods to her character”.
The loafer is handmade from an embossed croc print leather with a slight sheen. The shoe features details “based around the singer’s early ideas" with each piece adorned with two embroidered patch hearts, “in homage to the two love hearts tattooed on Amy’s arm”.
The style is finished with a silver Fred Perry laurel wreath on the apron, while the leather in-sock is finished with a tartan trim synonymous with the brand.
The loafer retails at £160 while 20% of the total net revenue received by Fred Perry goes to the Amy Winehouse Foundation, which works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people, and is estimated to amount to £280,000 per year.
It will be available to purchase at GHBASS-eu.com as well as FredPerry.com and in select stores.
