Enter, Fendi.

In some kind of mutant motorbike-helmet-meets-C.P.-Company-jacket move, Fendi just dropped one of the weirdest accessories of the summer. And that’s saying something.

But actually, the more we’ve stared at it and discussed it, the more it makes sense to us. In essence, it’s a great idea. Your cap and sunglasses attached means one less thing to think about. And, in practice it’s pretty great too.

The execution from Fendi is surprisingly good. There’s a lot of room for a cap-sunglasses hybrid to come off looking like a kids’ novelty toy but Fendi’s restraint with a pared-back color and subtle branding has really hit the spot here.

A leather brim complements the beige dome which features a tonal Fendi logo embroidered to the front. The one-piece sunglasses boast an all-over Fendi logo print against the pink tint.

Better still, the Fendi Sunglasses Cap is convenient, too. Thanks to two hinges attached to the underside of the brim, the sunglasses visor flips up and tucks away nicely when not in use.

We’re going to be honest: if somebody had pitched us a sunglasses-cap we’d probably have told them it’s not worth it. But then we saw Fendi do it. Now, we’re believers.
