Tom Ford launches final women’s collection
Tom Ford released on Wednesday his final ready-to-wear collection for his namesake brand, alongside a star-studded campaign.
Dubbed 'Tom Ford Archive', the fall 2023 collection looks to the past to pay homage to Ford’s design legacy with re-issued versions of his favorite looks over the years.
Famous pieces include the spring 2020 sculpted pink breastplate and maxi skirt, the designer’s white cape gown that Gwyneth Paltrow famously wore to the 2012 Oscars, as well as the sheer black lace gown seen on his fall 2020 Hollywood runway.
Other highlights include the multi-colored geometric sequinned maxi dress, worn by Rihanna on the April 2016 cover of Vogue, as well as his fall 2014’s sequinned 'Tom Ford' football jersey minidress, as seen on Beyoncé during her Mrs. Carter Show world tour.
Beyond apparel, Ford also pays tribute to his most popular shoes with hits like the stiletto-heeled gladiator boots, as seen in his spring 2013 runway show, and the crystal-encrusted yellow leopard-printed slingback heels from his fall 2018 collection.
The collection launches with a campaign, shot by longtime Ford collaborator Steven Klein, and features Karlie Kloss, Amber Valletta, Karen Elson, Joan Smalls and Caroline Trentini, among other stars. As part of the campaign, the muses are captured posing and strutting in light-up boxes.
Tom Ford is bidding farewell to his namesake label following 13 years. The brand was sold to Estée Lauder in a deal valued at $2.8 billion in November of last year. A label successor has not yet been announced.
