Megan Thee Stallion stars in Nike's latest campaign
Stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson and photographer Renell Medrano collaborated on Nike's latest campaign, starring prominent figures like Megan Thee Stallion, Feng Chen Wang, Kirsty Godso, Parris Goebel and Yoon Ahn. The ad, released Wednesday, celebrates competitive sport, fitness, movement and style. "Today, we're meeting people where they are. We want everyone to be able to realize their best selves across mind, body and life," said Liz Weldon, VP, Nike Global Women's Brand Management. "And we're celebrating all forms of movement, for all women and all bodies. We see women and girls leading change in all facets of society, and we want to be her biggest champion."
Louis Vuitton taps into the South Korean tourism industry
As South Korea's booming entertainment industry continues to draw attention, Louis Vuitton has signed an agreement with the Korea Tourism Organization and Seoul Metropolitan Government to create content and events in Seoul through 2023. As part of the agreement, Louis Vuitton — which recently signed K-pop star J-Hope as a house ambassador — will stage a pre-fall runway show in the city on April 29. The deal will also include a curated online travel guide for Seoul and Han River available on Louis Vuitton's City Guide app.
Amina Muaddi opens first retail space at Harrods
After nearly five years of building her self-funded label, Amina Muaddi is preparing to open her first permanent retail space at Harrods in London, as part of the footwear brand's next stage of growth. "We've evolved, we've tried to transform a successful startup into a successful business," Muaddi tells Business of Fashion. She has spent the past year expanding her business with longevity in mind, building relationships with suppliers, recruiting new talent and launching an e-commerce website. While the brand has enjoyed soaring popularity in the past years, even amid the pandemic, Muaddi is confident that a physical location will help give the brand a more consistent presence for customers to interact with.
Daniel Roseberry signs with Creative Artists Agency
Daniel Roseberry, the creative director of Schiaparelli, has recently signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation. Roseberry is responsible for many of Schiaparelli's most iconic moments, including the red, white and blue look Lady Gaga wore to sing the national anthem at the inauguration of President Joe Biden, as well as First Lady Michelle Obama's lemon-colored silk dress worn to The Smithsonian's American Portrait Gala. The decision to join the Hollywood talent agency will surely bring more exciting moments for the prolific designer.
